Eagle Air's new Dornier 328

Eagle Air (IS Flugfélagið Ernir) welcomed a new addition to its fleet this December when it began operating a Dornier 328. The airplaine can transport 32 passangers as well as a crew of three, and it will be utilized in Eagle Air's regular routes as well as for specific assignments both in Iceland and abroad.

"We hope that the added number of seats will prove more economical for certain routes, and we will have a better opportunity to lower our prices. Of course this is all subject to wages and circumstances in our tiny market," says Hörður Guðmundsson, Eagle Air CEO. The Dornier comes as an addition to the Eagle Air's four 19 passenger Jetstream 31/32 airplanes.

Eagle Air is the oldest airline in operation in Iceland, still under the management of its original founders in 1970. Ernir flies regularly to five destinations throughout the country, as well as Reykjavík: Vestmannaeyjar, Höfn in Hornafjörður, Húsavík, Gjögur and Bíldudalur.
